Introduction

Everybody's guilty of some sweet, innocent California dreaming, which makes a two-day, San Diego sun-n'-surf stop, a great western start. While there, run for the border for shopping bargains, cold beer and warm tequila in nearby Tijuana, Mexico. The highlights continue Grand Canyon, desert paradise-style in Arizona, and later in Nevada, where okay, party people and poker champs, we'll show our hand: Your final destination is Sin City itself, Las Vegas.

Day 1: Los Angeles (Anaheim) to San Diego

Meet up with your Contiki Crew and head south to San Diego. You’ll check out Tijuana in Mexico, on the other side of the world’s busiest border crossing before enjoying the Gaslamp Quarter’s lively nightlife.

Day 2: San Diego

Today discover what “America’s Finest City” has to offer – 70 miles of beaches, a world famous zoo, sailors, surfers, shopping, and not to mention some of the world's finest weather. Hotel (B)

Day 3: San Diego to Phoenix

Leave the beach behind and head toward Phoenix, a metropolitan desert oasis. Spend the night in the hip college town of Tempe.Hotel (B)

Day 4: Phoenix to the Grand Canyon

From the ‘Valley of the Sun’ journey to the majestic Grand Canyon with a stop in idyllic Sedona, nestled in ‘red-rock country.’Cabin (B,D)

Day 5: Grand Canyon National Park

Hike, walk, or take an optional flight for an up close and personal experience with this phenomenal natural wonder. Cabin (B)

Day 6: Grand Canyon to Las Vegas

Get your kicks on Route 66 as you head toward the bright lights of Las Vegas. (optional) Hotel (D)

Day 7: Las Vegas

It’s all glitz and glamour as you hang out on the ‘Strip’, relax by the pool, or hit up Sin City’s flashiest party hot spots. Hotel (B)

Day 8: Las Vegas

This morning the tour ends and it’s time to say farewell to your new friends.
